#3

They just keep growing and things keep happening that remind me daily they they are growing up.
Little Girl has had a wiggly tooth for weeks now. Possible even over a month if I'm truly thinking about it. We have tried multiple times to pull it out but it just didn't seem ready. Maybe momma wasn't ready either.
Sometimes another tooth is like another year of growing up. I'm just not ready for it. Sure I am trying to enjoy every stage but man the time sure seems to be flying.
The tooth that came out the other night was #3. There is a really wiggly one on top. Oh boy. I wonder how long that one can hold on for this momma.

She cracked me up though. I put the tooth in a Ziploc bag and put it under her pillow. When I went to check on her and of the bleeding had stopped after I tucked in big brother, She was gripping the bag. She looked up at me and said, "I'm holding on tight to the bag so that she doesn't take it. I want to keep my tooth to show my friends."
She is full of so many surprises and delights.

A break in the house stuff.........

in all reality though......is there ever a break in the house stuff? i know there is an end in sight.....just waiting on it.

in the meantime i am going to post about the Little girl and her milestone last night. First tooth lost. i just can't believe it. this first picture is from March 9th. But let me go back even farther. Little girl has been waiting to loose a tooth since she was like 4. We kept letting her know that it would happen just to be patient. Early March she told me that her tooth was loose. I felt it and realized it was. She finally had a loose tooth after years of wishing for it. I snapped this picture because i knew if i didn't get one of her before she started loosing them i would be upset.

last night was the day. she was laying in our bed playing a game and said mommy can you check to see if my tooth is ready to come out?  i really wasn't sure it would be. she has been asking every day since the beginning of last week. i reached in and pushed a little and we heard a pop. her eyes got wide because she thought i had gotten it out. i told her i needed to grab a paper towel and then i would finish getting it out. when i came back i asked her if she was ready and she was, i wiggled it a bit more and then out it came. she said that it did hurt some but she never cried. i asked her this morning if it hurt bad enough coming out that she wished we didn't pull it and she said NO.

she was glad that it was out and was ready to go to school and tell everyone that she FINALLY had a missing tooth.

The Making of a Grandparents Photograph

My parents got out numbered with grandchildren when my sister had her oldest. It is just me and my younger sister. I have two kiddo's and she has two kiddo's.
kind of sweet since that is how we grew up (a family of four)

we went to visit my parents over the Memorial Day weekend at their lake house and the night before we left I mentioned to my sis that we needed to get a pic of mom and dad with the kids. that morning, mom mentioned that she wished she had gotten a picture of the two of them with the four kids.

we headed out to the front porch and set up.

I told them I was just getting the camera ready, which truly I was but then once I looked back through them I thought it would be fun to make this blog post about getting a picture with four children.

setting up here and figuring out where everyone should sit.
thank you mom for taking care of this.
(I sometimes fell like I am terrible at this)

the youngest is with Honey

now he is with Bear, and we still aren't ready

four out of the six but still cute

four out of the six again. this time one of them is different than the last picture

now only three of the six (come one people)

I would say this one is pretty great except for my son in the background, who had such a large piece of gum in his mouth it looked like he had chew in there.

wait, another almost good one. (note to self: next time we get a family picture with mom and dad, have kids spit out the gum)

sometime you just have to embrace the gum faced mouth and claim this one, THE ONE!

this one may be my favorite, even thought little girl isn't looking at the camera, I love her expression. the love

again another favorite even though golden boy has a silly face

and not matter how much I snap the break down happens at some point

and I yell "ok silly picture"

which of course everyone loves

they were all really good sports to sit through all of the pictures, even though it happen so quickly.

Mom moments

stages of life are strange and fun all at the same time. i am not in a stage of life anymore where i am diapering and changing and bathing children. I still help little girl in the bath but my son is completely independent in the showering department, and has been for awhile. however, this whole showering thing is going to give me a heart attack, i just know it. i will die running to the bathroom to check on golden boy. why? you may ask. it has nothing to do with my worry of his safety but realizing 5 minuets into his shower that i forgot to take his hearing aids out. i haul to the bathroom, heart pounding, shower curtain pulled aside and check to see if they are out.

funny thing about growing up, they grow up in more areas than just being independent with showers. he has become more and more responsible for the care of his hearing aids. i get messages from his hearing specialist at school saying how proud she is that he is advocating for himself when it comes to his hearing aids. he lets them know when they aren't working correctly or needs new batteries. he has been so great about all of that and i love hearing about it from the ladies at school that love and care for him.

i need to calm down and realize that he is growing up, becoming more responsible, and caring for his hearing aids. i still will probably run to the bathroom, heart pounding, worried that he has forgotten to take them out a few more times (i am mom) but it is getting better and i am realizing what a sweet, grown up, responsible, guy that i have. he makes me smile and makes me proud.
