first let me say that this last week was spring break so there was many adventures that happened and hopefully I can get some great pictures up of the adventures we had but this adventure is not a family adventure it is one just for me.
I wish that this post had pictures to go with it, well maybe not. this adventure is a work out adventure. I bought a groupon for a local gym/studio that a bunch of my friends have been going to and have really enjoyed. I have never been a part of a gym or anything like that. the only group exercising that I have ever really participated in was in high school. I was on the dance line and in the summer we had dance camps and training where we did lots of aerobics and exercising. that was quite a while ago. I was also intrigued by the classes because they offer some of the barre classes and I have always wanted to take some of those. my first two classes were the barre classes. then I took a mash up of a bunch of different things and then something called torch and boy am I sore from that but I was good and pushed me.
I go back this week for another barre class and another torch. maybe I am crazy, maybe not but I am ready to be in better shape than I am in. it is scary and exciting. group classes like this intimidate me but so far I am being brave and hopefully doing well.

Adventure 12
Cinderella
Again
This time with my mom
I think I may find something new and wonderful about this movie every single time I watch it.
I wanted to purchase a Cinderella shirt to wear to the movie but remembered that I had one that my hubby had bought me years ago when we went to see the play.
(a picture of my shirt is coming soon. I know you are eager to see it so check back in a few days to see it)
I wore it with my sparkly earrings that i purchased from ike and co. aren't they awesome. i just love them. i have two other pair from her shop.
We laughed at the previews, loved Frozen Fever and were taken away by the beautiful story of Cinderella with the message of Having Courage and Being Kind.
As we were leaving my mom told me something that made me tear up. that she cannon watch that movie without thinking of me and how no matter what i need to remember to always have courage and to be kind, as she believes that i have been, to not let others put fear and unkind words into my heart, that make me think i cannot show someone who i really am and be kind to them.
I will follow this with this quote that I wanted to remember the first time i watched the movie. this time i jotted it down......
"Perhaps the greatest risk any of us will ever take is to be seen for who we truly are." ~The Fairy Godmother in Cinderella

St Patty's Day Treat
At the end of last week we brought these cute colors to Little girl's teachers so that they would be sure not to get pinched today. I chose both of the colors one day when I was out shopping and I brought them home and asked Little girl which colors she would like to give each of her teachers. She chose the exact colors that I would have picked of the ladies and they are the exact colors that each of them liked. We were pleased.
I saw this pin last year and knew that it would be fun for her teachers this year for St. Patty's day.
I really liked their printable but wasn't sure how it would print on my printer so I just typed up the saying in word and glued it on some green card stock and tied it on with some bakers twine.
thank you eighteen 25 for always sharing cute ideas.

Adventure(s) 11
this weekend was full of expected and unexpected adventures.
it started on Friday, when I got a message from a friends how asked if Little girl and I wanted to go on a girls date with her and her daughter to see Cinderella.
now, for anyone who knows me, they know that I love Cinderella. she is my favorite princess and I have been waiting and waiting to see the movie (blowing up Facebook will all the excitement, full of Cinderella posts)
my plan was to wait some more, until this coming weekend to go and see it with my mom. I really wanted Little girl to see it but was debating on taking her when I went with my mom. I was hoping for just some mommy and me time with my own mom. so I messaged my mom and asked her if she was ok with me taking Little girl to see it and then her and I could go without Little girl and she was completely fine with that. so I let my friend know that I was good to go and thrilled to see the movie with them.
I asked if her daughter was going to dress up and she let me know that she really wanted too. Little girls Cinderella dress is pretty big and she I asked her which princess dress she wanted to wear she said her Elsa one, which was perfect since we got to see the Frozen cast in the mini film Frozen Fever.
on Saturday our plan was to go to the St. Patrick's Day parade. The rain looked like it was going to be all gone by the time the parade started. about 30 min before it was time for us to leave it started raining and didn't stop. we thought the place we had in mind to catch it at would be good because it wouldn't get there till about 30 min after the start time. we caught about 20 or so min of it. it misted pretty much the whole time but it was fun to be there with friends.
after the parade we went to visit Nana, which is what we did last year and had fun telling her about the parade and showing her all the kids were learning in school.

Adventure 10
The Night Cirucs by Erin Morgenstern is probably one of the most enchanting books that I have ever read. After reading it about two years ago I wanted to do some kind of Night Circus themed party. Then a friend of mine started a book club and she had read the Night Circus too. We discussed doing The Night Circus for one of the months in book club. A whole year went by and I decided to do it, décor and all. I spoke a little bit about it in Adventure 5. The book is full of wonderful ideas to make it all come alive but so is pinterest. I came across this pin for playing card garland. we happen to have a ton of playing cards that we don't use (these round ones being one set) so i taped them to some red and white bakers twine and hung them behind the food table.
Crepe paper in black and white was a dream.
there were two other book clubs, Delicious Reads and Things I Love, that i kept coming across on pinterest that inspired quite a bit of our book club.
after reading through the book a second time I kept thinking that we needed to have a fire pit like in the book. we had a black plastic caldron from Halloween and some wood and Christmas lights and I was able to make a fire to keep the circus alive.
if you look closely there is even a book at the bottom of it just like Marco put in his fire to keep connected to the circus. I came across these two pins that helped inspire my little pretend fire.
once you walked into the door you encountered the Fortune Teller's tent where you could pick up your fortune (in the form of a paper cookie.)
this was my den and where the conversation about the book took place. (the main circus tent)
along with the Fortune teller's tent you could stop at the Bedtime Stories tent where you could open bottles and jars that may take to different places.
before walking into my kitchen you encountered The Wishing Tree
not all of the ladies made new wished ignited by old ones but some of them did
once in the kitchen you got to be in The ice garden, where there was rock candy and ice water.
here is the main food table. I knew that Chocolate mice was going to for sure be on the menu, as well as popcorn and some sort of caramel dipping sauce.
I attempted to make mini caramel apples, (scooping apples out with a fruit baller) that was difficult to do, I wasn't getting round balls and then I dipped them in the caramel and put them in mini cupcake liners. peeling the liner away from the caramel was difficult and the paper stuck to the bottom of the apples/caramel.
I purchased the popcorn containers at hobby lobby.
cups were a no brainer, I used the mason jars that I had on hand and the black and white paper straws that I already had as well.
the punch was equal parts, apple juice, cranberry juice and ginger ale (which was a big hit)
I had hoped that the chocolate mice would come out looking more like these.
they were not very easy to make but my husband assured me that they did, indeed look like mice and while they weren't as pretty as the ones in the link they sure were good.
I used yellow cake mix and vanilla frosting and the milk chocolate candy melts.
the tails were the pull apart twizzlers and some of the mice have the almond slivers for ears.
chocolate mice were getting difficult to make so I made a few cake balls to put out which were quite a bit easier but still difficult. (I should add at this point that this was my second attempt to make cake balls. the first one was a complete fail I didn't even get to the chocolate dipping part.)
and then, the book club could not be a book club without these ladies.
the Reveurs
if you saw my earlier post about the circus being canceled because of the weather (this was a rescheduled event) there were about five or six other ladies that would have been here if not for the crazy March weather we were having. I am grateful for these ladies that were still able to make it even though we had to reschedule. it was a lot of fun.

Adventure 9
Snow days
Over the past two weeks we have had maybe one full day of school because of snow days.
here is my snowflake princess
there is just something magical about falling snow. it was so much fun to watch it falling and then go be able to go out in it.
these pictures starts the second snow day that we had. it didn't start to come down until around 2 and it snowed until 10 that night
this is the next morning after the 8 hours of snow
and we played in it pretty much all day
it quickly started to melt that day and then it was still around the next day even though everyone went back to school. it was fun but I am ready for warmer weather.
and guess what.....they are calling for another snow this week. oh how I wish it would all just go away
