...some people would say, just like mom and dad.
today my hubby and i went to the doctor.
after a sleepless night for my hubby (he was anxious) and having to work a couple of hours this morning, we found out that the doc was in surgery and we could resch. our apt or wait.
this apt was particularly important because we were to find out if the baby was a boy or a girl. so we decided to wait.
when we were finally seen he did the organ check to make sure the baby was okay. so far so good. the baby is great. then after being on my head for like 10 minuets he regretfully informed us that he couldn't tell if the baby was a boy or a girl. the baby was sitting indian style, its head at my ribs and he feet by my pelvis. the doc had me turned practically upside down trying to get the baby to move to see what it was but it wasn't budging. needless to say we were disappointed.
it's always great when you hubby can put things into perspective for you though. we were sitting at lunch and he said you know what though...i may be disappointed about not knowing the sex of the baby but when the doc told us that the baby was okay and had all the organs that it was suppose to have and two arms and two legs that was such a relief. he said can you imagine our conversation now if the baby was missing a limb or an organ? it really put things into perspective for me. so while i may be disappointed because i don't know yet what the baby is, i at least know that it's healthy and appears to be happy. the doc said it was playing with the umbilical cord and at one point we saw one of its hands and it looked like it was giving us a thumbs up. so maybe stubborn, but like mom and dad. that's our baby!

only 40%, whew!

a little blogging fun from alli

You Are 40% Gross

You're a tad gross, but generally you're a clean, hygienic person.
No one can be perfectly clean all the time, and it's better to be human than a neat freak.

Three Things Thrusday

three favorite vacation spots
fiji: we got to experiance fiji differently than most people would, i guess. we went on a missions trip there and stayed in the villages with the people and got to know them. it was really an amazing time. we loved every minute of it and often talk about when we can go back.
hawaii: we went to hawaii in november of 2005 for a much needed vacation and we really had a wonderful time. we love the beach and the water and the sunsets. so we would definatally like to go back to visit.

the northwest: we never actually vacationed here we lived here for almost three years. it was three great years where we saw a lot of amazing sights, experianced a lot of amazing things and met a lot of amazing people. we may not ever live there again but vacation definatelly and i'll feel like i'm home.

A little lawn fun

living in washington this game of bocce ball was frequently played. i must say that i never took part in actually playing the game though. there were a number of guys that played it and to occasionaly girl but for the most part the girls sat around and talked while the guys took part in the grueling game of bocce. while i loved my time talked with my friends that i love so dearly i now wonder if i, if we were missing out on something really great. my husband went out last weekend and bought us a bocce ball set and we have used it and played it like it was the best game ever. it's pretty stinkin' fun too. we played a game last night with my brother and sister in law and it was lots of fun. they really enjoy it too. if just really funny to me how a couple of balls and throwing them across the lawn can be so entertaining. i man look at the people in the pictures don't they look like they are having a great time. maybe it's the wine but just maybe it's the bocce ball. so if someone ever asks you if you want to play a game of bocce ball then don't turn them down. say "yes" and see where the fun will take you.
