Great Weekend
my hubby, little guy and i went to visit my sister this past weekend. we were there for a conference that my hubby had to attend but we got some good sister time in and we also got to see some old friends.
on wednesday night we got to eat at one of our favorite restaurants, johnny rays and we visited with godiva girl and her family. it was so great seeing them. it seems like it's been forever since we were all together. her kido's are all grown up and so fun. it was fun catching up. we talked about old times, new things and lost. :)
then on thursday night we met with some friends that we went to college with, at johnny rays. (we really like that place) it was a fave in college too. we got to meet the rest of the weems clan and the newest addition (now 14months) of the jones fam. it was a great time. there were 8 adults and 7 kidos. yes it was crazy but i loved it. we joked that the next time we get together we will hopefully have one more and they may have added another kido to each of their families making four kids for each of them. i hope it's not that long till we see each other again.
we also got another surprise. a couple of weeks before we left we found out that a friend of ours from washington was going to be there for a conference too and that we would get to see him. it was great seeing will and hearing about his little baby girl.
little guy had a great time watching all the kids, playing with aunt lc, scooting all over the place, visiting friends, checking out the sites, and playing with the plugs. the kido is obsessed with wires(like to a phone, lamp, tv) i am constantly having to keep him away from them. i'm waiting for it to click that he realizes that mommy wants him away from them. he also got his first black eye this weekend. (it wasn't from me) it was from one of my friends little girls. she dropped a toy on his face. all accidental but he cried pretty hard. i probably shouldn't really call it a black eye because it wasn't as bad as some black eyes that i have seen. it's more like a bruise right on the outside of his eye.
we had a great time and hope to visit with all our friends again and sooner. it was such a quick weekend. since we went to college in bham we have lots of other friends in the area that we'd love to see. maybe next time. college's need to have reunions.

Mother's Day
i'm a little late on the mothers day post. we had a good day. my hubby wend out and bought me this book that i really wanted since i've read pretty much everything else by robin gunn and probably have almost all of her books. i was loving it and loving the book. and he (and baby boy) got me a subscription to this magazine. i've looked at it in little guys doctors office and really liked it so i have 10 months worth coming. yeah. it was a good day. every mothers day the chuch that we attend has baby/children dedication so we dedicated little guy. he was so cute. he was just talking away. making all kinds of noises. i have some pics of that but i haven't gotten them on the computer yet so they will be posted later. i also got a cool book from my mom that was 101 ways to be a cool mom. i'm not sure if that's the exact title but it's really neat. we had a relaxing day and ended it with some survivor.

i've been wanting to change the layout of my blog for a while but i wanted to stick with the dots, circles, spots, whatever you want to call them. i'll say spots since the name of my blog is "my spot"
so here's four that i like and i wanted you guys to tell me what ones you like. i need a vote i guess. so it's red tree #1, green pyramid #2, brown spots #3, and jumbled spots #4. which one do you like?

???????????
redneck............walking desaster.................unprepared................not really sure what to title my post. all of these things come to mine when i tell you about what happened.
after taking little guy to the doc on thursday and learning the joys of a baby on a nebulizer, busting one of my tires on friday, getting sick and having to go to a walk in clinic on saturday morning, we go to target that evening and on the way there i hear the strain of my little guy and just know that he's pooping. after confirming it i said to my hubby i hope this isn't a blow out because i don't think i have a change of clothes. then as i reach down into his diaper bag i realize that i also don't have wipes. so once we got into target we make a mad dash for the baby isle to buy wipes, then straight to the bathroom to change his butt. as my hubby is lifting him out of his car seat i notice that yep it was a blow out and it's all over his onsie. and yep i was right about not having a change of clothes. i did have some pants but no top. so my hubby heads to the baby clothes to buy a onsie and as i'm going into the bathroom i yell to him nine months(so he knows what size to get.) i successfully change the stinky diaper and hubby still isn't back with the onsie. so........out of the bathroom we go with naked baby in a fresh diaper.
i'm not sure if you have ever given someone the look of disgust for having their kid out in public naked but i have. and today it came back to bite me in the butt. sure enough there was a couple old ladies that were thinking this exactly........you redneck. get some clothes on that baby. i'm feeling really dumb at this point and as i round the corner to the isle with the baby clothes i come across a lady with her toddler, a little girl, riding in the back of the buggie and she is in pants but no shirt. i stopped and smiled at her and she at me. she said that her little one didn't want to wear a shirt and i explained the my son had a blow out all over is clothes and mommy failed to have a change of clothes in his bad............unprepared. uggggg!
so i finally see my hubby frantically looking for something to buy our son. then he lets me know that he shouldn't have been the one to go and buy clothes for him. at this point i'm thinking how could you not find something i'd put him in pink if is just had some clothes so people would stop staring at me. we finally find the boys table that has onsies for 3.99 picked one out (a cute green striped one, i love stripes and green so things are looking up) go to pay for it and get my baby dressed so that people stop staring at us. it was a crazy experience and i would like to say that i will never be unprepared again but in know that's not true. it will probably happen again.
