Overlooked #1

i stumbled onto this really cool blog called Overlooked check it out.
the blog owner, ashley, gives you a subject to take a pic of, then gives you ideas about that specific subject, and then you scrap, journal or blog it, something.
the first subject was your coffee mug or drink of choice.
it's really neat idea and it's fun seeing other people's creative ideas with there pics.
i'm not the best photographer but i try. here is my first overlooked attempt.
i love looking at scrapbookers creative ideas and all but i'm trying to do one for baby boy and don't really have the time to do one for me either so i am just going to post them here on my blog and maybe journal them in a notebook as well.

Question for Moms

baby boy is 6 months old.
it wasn't to long ago that i was able to lay him down in his bed and he was able to fall asleep on his own.
now it's a fight just to get him to go to sleep.
it seems like the only way that he will go to sleep is if i'm holding him.
which i guess is okay but the minute that i put him down he wakes up.
what to do?
is this normal?
will he grow out of it?
today i let him cry for over 30 min and he wasn't giving in.
he wasn't even giving in when i held him.
and he had been feed, changed, played with and all but still he was fighting it.
he basically fought it until it was time to feed him again and then he feel asleep eating (he did finish his bottle) and then when i put him down he woke up.
i'm not sure if all of my rambling makes sense so i will just leave it at that and hope that i have some suggestions to follow.
am i putting to many expectations on my son like my hubby is saying that i may be doing?

2007 Books

i usually post this at the beginning of the month but every time i sat down to blog i realized that i didn't have my list that i kept of the books that i read in 2007. so finally i pulled it out and have it with me. here it is...........

Leave a Candle Burning-Lori Wick
Summer Sisters-Judy Blume
Tomorrow's Treasure-Linda Lee Chaikin
Yesterdays Promise-Linda Lee Chaikin
Captive Heart-Linda Chaikin
Silver Dreams-Linda Chaikin
Ever After-Karen Kingsbury
Sisterchicks in Gondolas-Robin Jones Gunn
How to be Lost-Amanda Eyre Ward

Finding Noel-Richard Paul Evans
Reason and Romance-Debra White Smint
Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants-Ann Brashares
The Timepiece-Richard Paul Evans

i have to say that i am impressed with the amount that i was able to read this year. still not as many as i would like to read but at least i got to read is how i think about it. there is 17 in this list...that's 2 less than last years list. i would hope that i can top that this next year but so far i've only read one book this year.

Giggles

i have this giggle problem.
you know when you uncontrollably giggle at the wrong or most inappropriate times.
like when someone is praying...inappropriate.
or how about his one: first off keep in mind that i went to bible college for four years. OKAY!
at church on sunday the pastor was preaching from jonah. so my hubby picks up the pew bible and starts his search for jonah. he's looking like he can't find it. so me, being smug and all, takes it from him and proceeds to find jonah. i open up to joel and hand the bible back to him.
he looks at me questioning what i had just done. he points to the name and then i notice it. oh wrong "j" name. i am now frantically going through the old testament books in my head and before i get to the end of them, where jonah is i look over at my hubby and said, "wait, there isn't a jonah!" (why do i even speak sometimes.)
again the questioning look and he says while laughing, "you should have your bible college degree taken away from you."
here is where the giggling starts and i have trouble stopping them. like the pastor would print sermon notes and preach a sermon on the book of jonah if there wasn't one. i guess it's not unheard of. try looking for the book of moses or noah.

anyways, this brings me to last night when i'm holding baby boy as he's trying to go to sleep. he was fussy and tired and once the crying stopped he laid in my arms, eyes closed making spit bubbles. then he'd get all cozy and i would think he's finally about to go to sleep and the spit bubbles would start again. i couldn't help it, the giggles just spilled out. which would make him stop only to start up again and make me giggle more. meanwhile my hubby is shhhh--ing me, like i can help it. eventually the bubbles stopped as did the giggles and little guy floated, on a bubble probably, off to dream land.

i love the joy and unexpected giggles that little babies bring into our lives, even when they aren't trying.
i got this by email yesterday and thought that i would post it.

I've learned that, no matter what happens, how bad it seems today, life does go on, and it will be better tomorrow.
I've learned that you can tell a lot about a person by the way he/she handles four things: a rainy day, the elderly, lost luggage, and tangled Christmas tree lights.
I've learned that, regardless of your relationship with your parents, you'll miss them when they're gone from your life.
I've learned that making a "living" is not the same thing as making a "life."
I've learned that life sometimes gives you a second chance.
I've learned that you shouldn't go through life with a catcher's mitt on both hands. You need to be able to throw something back.
I've learned that whenever I decide something with an open heart, I usually make the right decision.
I've learned that even when I have pains, I don't have to be one.
I've learned that every day, you should reach out and touch someone. People love the human touch -- holding hands, a warm hug, or just a friendly pat on the back.
I've learned that I still have a lot to learn.

6 months

baby boy is six months today and i was watching him 2 nights ago when i went to feed him and laughing at how he sometimes attacks his bottle when he's hungry and thinking about how much i love that about him and wanted to post the things that i love about him.

i love...how when you are hungry and the bottle is close to your mouth you attack it

i love...the way your hair looks after a bath

i love...the way you stare at you hands before they find there way to your mouth

i love...the dimple in you chin

i love...picking the fuzz out from between your toes

i love...the way your eyes smile at me even when i can't see you mouth

i love...your lips

i love...when you are asleep in your daddy's arms

i love...that you are so happy when you wake up

i love...that you look for me when you hear my voice

i love...when you talk to me

i love...making you laugh and smile

i love...your left ear (the puzzle piece)

i love...the way you smile at you daddy

i love...how observant you are

i love...that when you are tired you cry with your eyes closed

i love...that you always have the look of surprise whenever you roll over, even if you did it 3 secs ago

i love...when you curl up and cuddle you face into my neck

i love...the sweet smell of your breath

i love...that i can kiss your cheeks a million times and you just let me

i love...the way your face looks after eating (chubbier)

i love...that you favorite thing is to have all your clothes off and just be in your diaper

i love...the look on your face when you first wake up

i love...that you sleep through the night
