  1. oh, but have you had the frozen version?! love it more than the hot kind but it does keep me very awake ... no decaf variety. :)

  2. Love it, friend. I hope you feel better soon. This week has been the longest stretch of "feel-good" for over 2 months!

Keep up with the ginger (even if it makes your tongue numb) and eating small meals.

Can't wait to see you again. When do you find out what you're having?

  3. never had the frozen ones but will have to try one next time i come in. right now it's for t's wedding but maybe before that just not sure yet.

amberj what kind of ginger stuff are you consuming for this yucky feeling? the small meals are working but after 6:00 in the evening i go down hill. i try to get dinner in and then that's about it. i've been having real bad indegestion. tums don't seem to be working. miss you lots and want to see you again soon. it may not be till next summer though once the baby is here and almost one. we'll see. oh and i find out the end of april beginning of may depending on when my apt falls on. i haven't made it yet. i go the end of this month and then i will make the next one. will you guys find out?

  5. It was great to hear from you! Where are you guys now? Glad you mentioned that it was you because I wasn't sure who "Andy" was. :-) Congrats on the baby news! I hope you're feeling better. I threw up until about 20 weeks with Orin. Not as much throwing up with Micaiah but I was sick just as long. Things that seemed to help (helping was relative and took the sickness from being really really horrible to really horrible) were ginger tea (boiling fresh ginger and drinking the water), hot water with fresh lemon juice, & italian ice - but at about 10 weeks I discovered that sucking on peppermints helped better than anything else I tried. I got sores on my tongue from eating them 24/7 but it was better than having my face in the toilet :-) But with the second pregnancy the thought of peppermints just made me sick but life savers seemed to work almost as well. When it came to eating, I found I felt best when I didn't eat. Everyone is definitely different so something that helps for someone might not make a difference for someone else. Even with all of the yickiness, I LOVED being pregnant. It only gets more fun the farther you get along. I'm praying for you and hope everything continues to go well.

  6. cheryl i knew that you would like and two's. can't wait to read yours.

renee thanks for all the advice. i've done tazo green ginger tea but the ginger root in water works the best. i've heard peppermints so i need to get some and do that. i actually have some life savers so i may eat those after lunch. evening times are the worst but this morning was terrible for some reason. i'll be 16 weeks tomorrow and i've heard some people say that at 20 weeks they go better so i have a couple more to go. i just hate feeling bad. i want to enjoy the pregnancy and as of now i don't feel like i am. and my poor husband. i'm wondering if he will ever want me to be pregnant again. he's been great though. thanks for the encouragement and prayers. i really appreciate it. oh and we are in huntsville alabama.

  9. You should definitely try the peppermints. I think it's the strong flavor that somehow overpowers the nausea. I tried EVERYTHING out there. I even tried those wristbands that you're supposed to wear on a ship to stave off seasickness. Of course, I know people who didn't like them. I know what you mean about waiting and waiting for the sickness to end. First I had my eye on the 12 week mark...everyone says it ends at 12 weeks. Then I heard that some end at 16 weeks...but 16 weeks came and went and I was still sick. Because I had lost so much weight, the Dr. gave me some great meds (called Zofran) which helped some. Then I started looking towards 20 weeks. Finally, I started having nausea for less and less amount of time during the day. But even at the end of the pregnancy I would still have bad moments every once in a while. It wasn't until after I had Orin that I realized that I had never gotten "totally" back to normal. But it made the hospital food taste great! Don't worry, you'll be able to enjoy the pregnancy even if you're still a little sick. There's not much to enjoy the first half anyway. Once the baby is moving and you're belly is growing more and more, you won't be able to resist the enjoyment :-) I know what you mean about your husband. Damien isn't a huge fan of me being pregnant because the first 4 months are so difficult. He was a big help too and it really makes it easier to be sick when you have a supportive husband.
