Big Boy

so last night i didn't get a chance to post sawyer's weight from his weigh in. he made it to 3lbs 5oz. we were very excited. but even bigger news is that tonight at weigh in he was 3lbs 7.2oz. aunt amanda, my sister-in-law, went with me and we were so thrilled. the nurse even weighed him again to see if it was right and it was. she said it could be a difference in scales and if he looses tomorrow then that may be it but i like to think that he actually did gain that much and that tomorrow he could be 3.8 or even 3.9. smiles all around.

  1. Wow! I remember what a big deal it was ... the weight thing with our first. Zach was a chunker so I never was worried. Just think ... one day you WON'T be concerned about his weight at all. Praying that you'll feel absolutely confident when you bring your little Sawyer home and for lots of rest between now and then. :)

  3. Wow! That's so awesome. Once he makes it to 4lbs will that be it? Can he come home? You mentioned he was out of the incubator. How is he doing with bottles? I'm sure you are counting the days!

  4. Okay, I'm really tired today and I feel like I have to explain my comment.

I meant that he gains a little bit more each day and it is REALLY exciting because it is just that much closer to his next milestone: going home.

    WOO-HOO!
    Sorry.

  5. -c yeah it's fun looking foward to the next weigh in but it will definatelly be nice when we aren't counting anymore.

amber- got the baby steps thing. you are hilarious though. thanks for explaining. i love you. we are very excited and know that coming home will be coming soon.

renee- he isn't actually out the the incubator he's just not having to use the incubator to keep himself warm. he can regulate his body temp on his own. so he still has to get to 4lbs which will come soon but the bottle thing is still lacking. he shows all the signs that he's ready but when he had the spit up spells and they put his feed on the machine that gives it to him over an hour they decreased it and may have done it to soon and he threw up again. so we are now at 45 min and i hope they stay with that for a few more feedings. he's getting there though.
