Morning Sickness is upon me

well actually i can call it all day sickness.
i can be thankful that there is no vomiting with it but not to thankful for the sick stomach that i've had.
this process has been progressing this whole past week and getting worse and worse until all i feel like doing is sleeping till late or laying on the couch all day and not moving to much.
my hubby doesn't understand it all that much because, well he's never been through, or never will experience this feeling.
lucky him.
i am trying to be thankful that it just started this week and that i didn't have it the first 7 weeks of pregnancy and also hoping that it will only last another 4 weeks putting me into my 2nd trimester when people say that it usually gets better.

  1. Feeling your pain, my friend. Next time you're on the couch sipping ginger ale or tea or whatever is helping just call me. I'm probably in the same place doing the same thing.

    Loving you!

  2. I've heard so many tips about what to eat/drink that helps calm the stomach...unfortunately, I can't remember ANY of them right now. Hopefully some of your other mom friends will have something to share. I didn't have a lot of that so it never became part of my preggo survival toolbox. Tums, on the other hand, were totally my friend but that was later on.

Still so excited for you! Congrats!!

  4. THere is an anti-nausea syrup at Walmart that is safe to take when you are pregnant. I cannot remember the name of it right now, but there is a Walmart version of it. I bet if you asked the pharmacists or your OB they would tell you. It seemed to help me pretty much (I was working while I was pregnant with Em and we kept the pregnancy under wraps for the first 10 weeks... so it was hard to not be obvious that I was puking all the time! That syrup really helped.)

Also- frequent snacking helped... and sodas (non-caffeinated of course) ;) from Sonic- their ice is magical. heheh

  5. Ginger is supposed to help nausea (SP?), ginger tea, ginger ale, ginger snaps? Maybe.

Oh, and Motherhood maternity store carries Prego Pops. They taste pretty good (although they did kind of make my tongue numb) and did help.

Try making a fruit smoothie in the morning. That helped me get through the last couple of weeks:
    8 oz. yogurt
    1 1/2 cups of milk
    1-2 bananas
Any other fruit you like or can stomach (optional)
1 Tbsp of Wheat Germ (for folic acid)

Of course I have no advice to give...but am sending my sympathy anyway. I had parent teacher conferences today and almost wish I had been nauseous to avoid them. Almost. Love you.

  8. Oh boy, that's not something I miss from pregnancy. But you're right--it will ease off and get better as you get further along!!
